On Saturday, September 4th, Local 205 members marched on Broadway to celebrate Labor Day. Not long ago, there wasn't any Labor Day celebration in Nashville. The Central Labor Council of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, Workers Dignity and Middle Tennessee Jobs with Justice started the new Nashville tradition 8 years ago with an unsanctioned march down Nolensville Pike.
Now Broadway, the center of commerce and tourism is Nashville is closed for our parade. It's a testament to the growing strength of union members and working people in Nashville.
This year, our Lincoln Chapter brought the Lincoln Jeep. Other unions created unique floats that highlight something special about their union. We hope to have members participate in creating a float of our own for next year!
